Logitech 970173-0403 mm50 Portable Speakers for iPod White by Logitech cost $96.72. Are they worth it? In my opinion, yes, definitely so, and let me tell you why.
Before these speakers were released in the market you had a choice between poor quality and very steep cost. You either had to buy speakers with transistor radio quality or buy costly devices from Bose and the ilk that sounded well but were difficult to carry around. These speakers fill a gap. They can be carried around well and produce nice sound as well that does not distort when turned up.
This unit is endowed with a lithium-ion battery which lasts about 6 hours when fully charged. If you play the music at a low volume, the battery lasts for longer. I found no distortion in sound both at very high and low volumes.
The Logiteck mm50 can easily fit in your pocket at its size. There is a covenient semi-soft carrying case that makes carrying it around easy. The only problem I have had with the mm50 is the bass and percussion which have less resonance and sounds flat. Though the sound is decent, it does not give you the most beautiful experience of music.
The remote of this system is weak. In addition there are many things with the design that need tweaking, like there is an absence of handle and shoulder strap, iPod compartments and AC adapter compartments.
Overall, this is a good speaker and great for the price, however there are several improvements I would have liked to see.
