I would rate this product as a two and a half on five. It only works on AC. There is no battery power. The sound is OK. The bass quality and deep bass response is strictly satisfactory. It sounds better than my computer speakers but it is no Bose. It reminds one of the small transistor radios from the seventies.

The remote worked upto 10 feet. The manual containing instructions is not easily comprehensible. You may end up experimenting on how to get the unit working on your own. This is not a big issue on it’s own because of the simplicity of operation.

There is a plastic shield that is meant to support the iPod or Nano after it is inserted into the dock. This unit did not make me too unhappy but I would have preferred a battery powered unit. When the unit is powered, a cool blue light shines behind the iPod. This creates a nice ambience. The unit feels very durable. However, because of the other shortcomings I would advise purchase only if there is no other option. If you decide to buy this unit it will set you back by $47.10.
